SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
At Rocamar Lido Resort (Royal Orchid, Rocamar and Cais da Oliveira Hotels), the aim is to raise awareness among guests and employees to avoid wasting natural resources, moving towards a more sustainable planet, using annual action plans and continuous improvement in the areas of water management, energy, waste, chemical products, social and cultural responsibility, always committed to the development and training of our employees.
WE REDUCED
- We've replaced single-use amenities with rechargeable dispensers that are biodegradable, 100% recycled and more environmentally friendly.
- We switch off the air conditioning when cleaning the room and open the windows.
- We reduce CO2 emissions by using LED light bulbs.
- We switch off the lights in vacant service areas.
- We reduce the use of paper, ink cartridges and toner when printing, and give priority to digital formats.
- We reduce the use of envelopes.
WE REUSE
- We follow the established procedure for changing towels and sheets in occupied rooms.
- We replace plastic straws with recyclable straws.
- We reuse paper for printing internal documents.
WE RECYCLE
- We separate waste for recycling: paper, glass, plastic and organic.
- We recycle cooking oil.
- We recycle batteries.
WE RESPECT
- We use products that respect local communities and therefore contributing to regional economic growth.
WHAT DO WE ASK?
- Reduce the shower time.
- Leave your rubbish in your room, we'll make sure it's recycled properly
- Reduce the lighting depending on your needs.
- Use the toilet's half-flush option and save water.
- Use the glass available for brushing your teeth.
- Use the sheets and towels more than once and help save water, electricity and washing-up liquid.
- Switch off the air conditioning whenever you open the windows.
- Use public transport or bicycles.
- Consider consuming regional products that respect local communities, which contributes to economic growth.
OTHER ACTIONS
Raising Employee Awareness: We regularly carry out campaigns to raise awareness among our team of employees, from simple practices such as adopting their own water bottle, to actions to a consciously use of paper in the company, always giving preference to the digital format.
Enhancing Local Culture: We encourage tourism by publicising events taking place in the region to our guests, as well as investing in the local community by hiring regional artists and professionals.
